Walking in a winter wonderland!

Hello Everyone!!

Hope everyones safe and well!

Not much is going on here at the moment, but the snow is fab. Its probably not going to be a very exciting blog as ive not got a lot to report!!

Its been lovely skyping you all, glad ive finally managed to speak to all of you which is great!

Ive been skiing a lot, enjoying all the new fresh snow! Im collecting my uniform today and officially becoming a member of the 'Red Army'. On a less great note, my skis are broken and unfixable... Not good!!! But im hoping they will hold out a bit longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I managed to watch X factor online which was awesome, but olly should of won!!!

Hello Everyone!


Sorry its been late in starting but better late then never!

It has been manic since the plane touched down, we got picked up in limos at the airport which was a lovely suprise, once we got to the hotel we headed out for a EA paid Greek dinner, was a very good hummous! And you know how much i love Hummous! We also did karoke! bit of the beatles!

Me and Mike went and found a car, its a beast, no frills obviously but its safe and it was a decent price, so far its been a life saver as the supermarket up at Silverstar isnt open yet!!!!

Since Vancouver i headed over to Big White, where im based as project manager currently, its a really nice resort and a great group to be in charge of!

Im now at my resort getting to know it all, its a really great resort, and the village is very pretty! Its all very bright and quirky, like out of a movie! My house is lovely, the hot tub is a fab addition and I can ski in and out of my back door!!! no more bus journeys for me!

Ill pop up piccys ASAP!

All great things have to come to an end!

Hey Everyone

Sorry about the delay from the last entry, its been pretty crazy here. So the Ski season has officially come to an end. Im so gutted its over its unreal, it went so fast! The last couple of weeks were really busy at work, i had a UK school group from Wales, for a week which was awesome fun, a great bunch of kids. I went to the end of season ski and snowboard school awards which was so awesome, I wrestled in a Sumo suit which was fun but my God it was boiling. We finished the end of season park video which Mike edited, ill show you when im back! ill try put the little teaser up just to wet your whistle! The last few weeks of skiing were amazing quite hard as i broke/cracked two of my ribs.... Dont ask... But i pushed through it so i could teach and finish my filming for the section!!

Im in the process of packing and cleaning my house up and eating all the leftover food ( pasta, pasta, Pasta, Peas, Ice cream ) A solid diet i think! then im off to San Francisco for four days with Angus Mike and Matt, Then me and Angus are off to LA for a cheeky bit of sun before we had bad to England!

Ill try to update the blog with san fran/LA pics, not sure if the internets available there though. If not... See you in 5 days!!!

Back to the big old pond...

Hello Everyone

It was so lovely seeing you all, and cant wait to come back and catch up properly. So after a nightmare of a journey im back in my house in Tahoe. After missing my connecting flights and then having to spend a further 5 hours waiting on standby i finally made it back to San Francisco. Then onto a nice 4 hour car journey i arrived back to my house at 4:30 am... joy! then to be awoken by my boys at 8 am was wonderful!!! lol. After a nice day with Mike i went to pick up Sarah from the airport! She spent the day at home and the bear came back... not that she noticed mind. Shes enjoying it so much shes staying another week!! It was Gaper day on wednesday, which i told you about in previous blogness so enjoy the pictures!!!

Ill be flying out of LA on the 26th, at the moment!!

Home Sweet Home

Greetings Everyone!

As All of you ( Except Mum ) Knew I returned to the meanstreets of Reading this week to surpise mum for her birthday, and Emma's Christaining! Its been a totally sureal experience being back, and made me realise what a bubble ive been living in back at Tahoe!!! Ive managed to see lots of people which is nice too. Have a watch of the video of mum seeing me for the first time... cant hear the infamous words of "Why are you here?" and her Asthma attack but its a nice video!! What a big shock it was seeing Emma, What a gorgous girl shes grown up into, What a giggler!!!

So the last week in Tahoe was amazing, We had a fire on the beach ( OC eat your heart out ) for Dom's birthday, which was amazing, we also had dress up friday for it. I went skiing in the park dressed as an Athlete wearing shorts and a vest... it was suprisingly warm... Gotta love California!

Watch out Watch out Graham the Bear is about!

Hey guys!

WE HAVE A BEAR!!!! We had our bear proof bin ripped open and rubbish split everywhere and he was on our front decking... Needless to say he went. I was very shaken and sat on the sofa and Dave just goes "Megan, Dont freak out but hes back" A 4ft bear about 4 metres from me. We scared him off with some loud music. Then went outside, talking to dave and Graham the bear came back!!! Weve got some amazing photos so make sure you check them out. I cant believe how close i was to him!!!! Weve joked all season about it but never thought it would happen!!!!!!

So aside from that news is limited, Bought my outfit for "gaper" day which is a day where you just take the mick in hardcore retro ski gear. I must admit. I should of been this old in the 80's i rock the look!!!

I should of bought a snorkel

Hey Everyone!

Im sorry for the delay in a post, i was hoping to get some piccies from Dad and Fi before i posted but i figured id post a new entry and add the pictures later!

So Northstar held the 2009 Winter dew tour final, ( this is like the world cup final but for skiing and boarding!) It was unreal to see all these people we watch on tv and play theyre video games so close. Well good. Even if we had to stand in the pouring freezing rain to do so! It was something that was incredible to watch live!

Dad had his first ski lesson, It went really well and had im stopping and going down village run by the end of 2 hours, Perhaps next years new hire? By the following day he had been on a chairlift, im really chuffed he enjoyed it and so impressed with how quickly he picked it up! It was a nice home comfort having dad and fi out, especially the rough time ive been having out here since my kidneys, plus they bought me genuine vegetables! SO GOOD! ( Ill put pics up asap )

In terms of work ive been getting a fair bit at the moment, because of my time off in presisdents week they gave my priority of work and experienced my first code brown... The dreaded words of "Teacher... I just pooped my pants..." "How do you know..." ( He lifts trousers to reveal poo dripping into his ski boot ) BAD BAD times. But who hey whatever pays the bills!

Weve had a HUGE dump down of snow... And when i say a huge amount the title of this blog was not in vain... Genuine 3 foot since yesterday... INSANE, Did my first clfif drop which was insane and think i was very close to a code brown of my own! Opening the front door this morning was mental we literally had snow up to the door handle!!!! See if you can spot my house from the road! I walked past it!!!

Hey Guys

So had another trip to the hospital... Ive got Two kidney stones; One still in my kidney and one is stuck in a tube and i also have an infected kidney. Im waiting to find out whether i have gallstones also. Its been pretty rough and wishing i could have you guys to keep me smiling, but Mike and Kara have been a godsend and have been looking after me, Letting my throw up in buckets and pass out on their shoulders. I owe them a lot, Especially Mike as without him i wouldn't of gone to hospital which if i hadn't the doctor said i would have been looking at kidney failure by today. Damn my Stubbornness!!!

Ill keep you all updated as and when i know!

Fresh Pow!

Hey Everyone!

So we finally had a huge dump down of snow! Had about a foot now, and it keeps coming! Its whats weve been waiting for so its been so exciting having it. The day we all woke up to fresh powder all went to the mountain and 95% of the people on the runs were instructors. It was great to see so many happy faces! Even if there is no work!!!! The day was amazing but we had an acident one of my good friends fractured the bottom of his shin. The second day of big powder we have had and he injures himself. The curse of the pow! Me injuring myself on the first!

I did a trip to Heavenly, which is on the south shore of the lake. It had the most spectacular views but the skiing was pretty rubbish!!! Got my snowboard too which is the pink one in the pictures!

Im starting to get a lot more confident in the freestyle park and pipe, learning a board slide which is where you defy your edges and go against them on a metal box.. I have the bruises to show the progression to do it lol. I also did my first double black diamond run! so thats the hardest they can get. It was intense and my thighs were burning by the end but it was so exciting!

Keep praying for snow for us ( and Dad for your bum! )
